Thsi Friday an intrepid group from a local contractors firm made their way down to uShaka Beach for a dawn patrol paddling session.

After meeting at the uShaka Adventures centre to change the group made their way down to the beach. There they were given a comprehensive briefing relating to safety, technique and some of the highlights of the expedition ahead.

After paring up the group headed out for a few practice turns in the sheltered area around Vetchies pier. When the lead facilitator was happy that the group was confident with their technique and ready for the open ocean the group headed out past the relative safety of Vetchies pier and into the Indian Ocean proper.

After making their way out to the shark nets and heading down to vetchies pier the group were given some instruction in riding waves before hitting the beach and making their way to wimpy for a breakfast feast. Thanks to Clyde and his team for putting together an unforgetable early morning kayak paddling experience.
