The public areas of Abalone Guest Lodge are for the exclusive use of guests, and include a lounge, inside dining area, outside balcony eating area and inviting pool.

The individual rooms themselves are spacious, full of light, and close enough to the ocean for the sound of the waves to lull you to sleep. All of the rooms have private balconies or patios, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and ocean, and have been individually and tastefully decorated featuring South African art and decor. The weather is especially good in Hermanus around Summer time (December through February), with the sun a constant companion for visitors.

Abalone Guest Lodge offers an amazing location for whale-watching, with Hermanus having been declared a whale-haven, due to these magnificent animals' migration patterns. Spotting these Southern Right Whales is hardly a rarity, with telescopes and binoculars on hand for guest usage.
