Vilanculos is approximately 700km north of Maputo. Daily flights are available from OR Tambo International to Vilanculos. The trip from the Airport to the boat takes approximately 10 min and guests are transported in a 14-seater minibus. The boat transfer to Dugong Beach Lodge takes approximately 45 minutes.

The Lodge offers 12 luxuriously appointed, air-conditioned chalets with sea facing views and direct access to the beach via individual walkways. There are also 2 villas consisting of 2 bedrooms, and a personal plunge pool.

All rooms have outdoor showers and twin beds can be converted to double beds. Each chalet has a private deck furnished with day beds for relaxation or wellness treatments and where private dinners can be enjoyed.

In the main area of the lodge there is an interflowing swimming pool with an island-style bar and martini seats with spectacular views of the ocean. The central Lounge, Dining Room and Sun Deck all have ocean views.

In addition the Lodge also offers Internet facilities, a TV & DVD Player in the Main Lounge, a small library and a Curio Shop.

Accommodation at Dugong Beach Lodge is on a full board basis and therefore includes all your meals. The Lodge is very accommodating of guests' eating habits and schedules.

This diverse eco-system of wilderness and wetland, with its powder-white beaches and crystal clear water is host to a magnificent array of beautiful creatures such as the leatherback turtle, sailfish, manta ray, dolphin and flocks of flamingos and pelicans. Most importantly it is one of the few sites in the world where the near-extinct dugong (which resembles a sea lion) is found.
