Activities

Oyster Bay Lodge Activities

Horse Riding: Explore the coastal reserve and private beach on one of our free roaming horses. Even "first timers" can enjoy this once in a life time experience. An experienced guide will join you on your ride through the dunes and "fynbos". The more experienced rider can have a breathtaking gallop alongside the waves of the Indian Ocean.

Mountain biking: A real challenge! Explore 235 ha of nature on a mountain bike. Ride over dunes, through the river and on the beach. A good health and condition is needed!

Fishing: Fishing can be done from the beachfront or at the rocks within walking distance from the lodge. Bring your own fishing equipment and catch your own Cape Salmon.

Deepsea fishing: For the more adventurous ones, we can arrange a deepsea fishing experience on a catamaran on the Indian Ocean.

Hiking: Four different hiking trails have been set out on the Coastal reserve. All the hiking trails are marked with different colours and vary from 3 to 7,5 km. Breath in the fresh air of the "fynbos" and listen to the sounds of nature and extensive birdlife.

Swimming: Try to keep your head above the water in the waves of the Indian Ocean, but be careful of the strong current, so don't go to far! After a refreshing splash in the sea, enjoy a real swim in our freshwater swimming pool and catch a bit of sun for a nice tan.

Picnic: To look after your appetite, we recommend to enjoy a picnic on one of our viewing decks. Our friendly staff will gladly prepare a delicious picnic basket for you. Just let us now when and where and one of our experienced guides will bring the basket to you on horseback!
