Activities

Periwinkle is situated on Beachyhead Drive, overlooking Robberg Peninsula, the Tsitsikamma Mountains and with direct access to Robberg Beach. We are perfectly situated for leisurely walks or lazy days spent on the beach or to perfect your stopover point to explore this scenic part of the Garden Route.

For golfing enthusiasts, Plett offers 2 superb courses and we are in close proximity to Knysna & George - both towns offering world class courses.

Whale & Dolphin Discovery Cruises are a highlight or you can watch from your balcony or over breakfast.

Go for a 2 or 4 hour walk on the Robberg Peninsula for an unforgettable experience. Kranshoek, Natures Valley & Tsitsikamma National Park are all in close proximity for keen hikers. Oyster tasting, elephant viewing, cruises to the Heads & Featherbed Nature Reserve as well as a__ journey on the Steam Train__ all make for interesting day trips.

The unique and most exciting feature of this area is the abundance in marine mammals in the bay which is flanked by two marine nature reserves and therefore rich in food for the resident whales and dolphins.

During July to September every year, Southern Right Whales migrate to this part of the Indian Ocean to calve. There are organised boat trips all year round to see Brydes whales and dolphins. Huge schools of dolphin surfing the breakers or leaping clear of the blue sea, are a regular sight throughout the year.
