De Zeekoe Guest Farm offers 4-star country life accommodation on a 2000 hectare farm that is part of the world's 17 "hotspots" with 3 overlapping flower zones and is well-known for the meerkat magic conservation project.

De Zeekoe's name originates from the Dutch name for the farm; Zeekoegat, which means a waterhole for hippo.

De Zeekoe, which is a guest farm, reserve, and conference and wedding venue, is located centrally on the celebrated Garden Route in the Western Cape, South Africa. Surrounding towns include George, Mossel Bay, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Tsitsikamma - all a nice short scenic drive away. The Garden Route is known as a golf mecca with courses such as Oubaai, Simola, Pezula, Pinnacle Point and the world famous Fancourt and Ernie Els's Oubaai. De Zeekoe is located 10 minutes from the scenic historical town of Oudtshoorn, and a 4 and a half hours' drive from Cape Town.

De Zeekoe Guest Farm has a wide and varied selection of accommodation to suit all guests' needs, ranging from superior 4-star suites with outdoor showers to 3-star rustic waterfront cabins. Magical views of the farm's gardens and surrounding mountains are the norm.

Superior Suites: Close to the main homestead are our superior suites, all with large bedrooms, full en-suite bathrooms and open-air showers. Also with Persian carpets, ceiling fan, TV, tea & coffee making facilities, minibar, air-conditioning (heating & cooling), hair dryer, toweling gowns. Each suite sleeps 2.

Luxury suites at the main homestead: The old colonial homestead is more than 150 years old and is restored to its historic spendour. 11 stylish suites (each sleeping 2) open onto cool verandahs set in a lush indigenous garden with spectacular views over the Outeniqua-, Swartberg mountains and the Olifants Riverbed. Each suite is tastefully styled with warm colours, soft textures and a personal touch. Secure parking is found on site at the main house.

All rooms have the following: Persian carpets, ceiling fan, TV, tea & coffee making facilities, minibar, air-conditioning (heating & cooling), hairdryer and towelling gowns.

Rustic self-catering waterfront cabins: Only 5 mins drive from the main house, you will find our 4 unique waterfront cabins, which sleep 2 to 5 people.

They are built from alien poplar wood that we removed to make way for endemic brush and offer breathtaking views over the lake which features abundant birdlife and is in a malaria free area. Canoeing and fishing at the lake is ideal for families and to enjoy the scenery and nature around you.

Each of the 4 rustic cabins is equipped with 2 bedrooms, bath with shower, lounge, fully equipped kitchenette and a large fireplace and deck.
