Accommodation
Visitors to Papyrus Lodge have a choice between two exclusive types of accommodation. You can opt to stay in stylish and smart suites in the estate's gracious and elegant Cape colonial architectural style Manor House metres away from the serene lake. Alternatively you can choose to spend your time at Papyrus Lodge by making the romantic and stylish wooden chalets, built on stilts in the lake, your holiday home with a distinct difference.
Guests at Papyrus Lodge who need to be in real-time touch with family, friends and business contacts can also do so if they so wish - wireless Internet connections are available to guests.
Superior Suites: The main Lodge is built in the traditional Cape colonial architectural style and nestles in the lush and abundant garden, only metres away from the tranquil lake. The Lodge houses four spacious and superior personalised suites of splendid quality.
Each suite has its own entrance as well as a private covered verandah where visitors can enjoy some quality time out to enjoy the vista that offers sweeping views across the lake and towards Table Mountain. Covered terraces lead you into the leafy garden where you can relax and breathe in the fresh air and exceptional surrounding natural beauty.
The Superior Suites are fitted with designer bathrooms boasting extra large walk-in showers for the utmost comfort.
Luxury Chalets: These romantic wooden chalets are built on stilts in the water. The chalets, decorated in fresh and natural hues, are connected to the land by a small bridge, leaving visitors staying in the chalets the opportunity to savour the experience of being removed from land whilst residing indulgently. Staying in the chalets means you are surrounded by calming and tranquil water. In addition you also have the luxury of magnificent views towards the Helderberg mountains on the one side and all the way to Cape Town's landmark Table Mountain on the other side. You can enjoy these views while relaxing on the chalets' private decks, fitted out with comfortable sunloungers.
The chalets offer five-star comforts such as underfloor heating, air-conditioners to make sure you are always ultra-comfortable in winter and summer, as well as carefully designed modern bathrooms fitted with modern appliances and elegant finishes. You can relish the spectacular sunsets reflected on the mountain range and the surrounding lake right on the water's edge while staying in these chalets. Each of the chalets sleeps two people in a one-roomed en-suite accommodation.

Environment Info
Papyrus Lodge is set on 12 hectares of private land that includes an enchanting garden. Visitors to Papyrus Lodge can spend time on the lush lawns, comfortably seated in loungers shaded by umbrellas or taking in the view from a traditional "strandkorb" (a conventional German beach chair) from the German East shore that offers protection from sun, wind or rain. Spending time on the lawn gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the splendid views and serenity of the shady palm trees.
The area is also home to a variety of indigenous and other plants and visitors can savour the floral abundance it offers. Papyrus Lodge lies in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom botanical region that is rich in "fynbos". Only five other floral kingdoms are internationally recognised, and these cover huge areas such as the whole of Australia and most of the northern hemisphere. The Cape Floral Kingdom is the world's smallest and richest floral kingdom and has the highest known concentration of plant species: 1 300 per 10 000 km².
Activities
While staying at Papyrus Lodge, you can cool off in the estate's private, fresh-water lake on a balmy summer's day or alternatively try a spot of fishing, row out onto the water or enjoy a leisurely ride on a pedal boat on the lake.
