Swartberg County Manor offers 16 comfortable en-suite guest rooms in the two original farmhouses. The Historical House (1865) has five enchanting rooms overlooking a fig orchard. The Main House offers 11 stylish rooms, with breathtaking panoramic mountain views from the open lounge. A further nine rooms are set in true Karoo style cottages, with a dreamy honeymoon suite to top it all.

Who would have thought that an old tobacco sorting shed could be turned into a stylish restaurant - our on-site a la carte restaurant Patat? Here, long, carefree talks and memorable occasions are complimented by hearty, traditional Karoo meals.

The Oregon woodwork adds a warm ambience to the fynbos paradise at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains. Enjoy breathtaking sundowners on the open wooden deck, while the Karoo sun paints the mountain in various shades of crimson. The seasonally fresh a la carte menu and hand selected wines compliment every special occasion.

Voorbedacht is a working farm, which offers our guests the unique opportunity to explore and experience the true essence of subsistence farming in the Little Karoo. Among the various agricultural products farmed, we also farm livestock such as, cattle, sheep and ostriches. Daily walks on the farm allow guests to experience the peace and serenity of this beautiful valley, while for the more "wild at heart" mountain bikes are available to explore the rugged terrain.

Swartberg Country Manor is the perfect venue from which many other places of interest can be accessed. Among these are the world-renowned Cango Caves - a must for any first-time visitor to the region. There is also the historical Gamkaskloof - or, as the locals call it, "Die Hel" (The Hell). The Garden Route is equally accessible, with George only an hour's drive away.

Our manager will assist you selecting any local eco, cultural and adventure activities. We have a shuttle service available that will enable you to visit the Cango Caves, Cango Wildlife Ranch or the Cango Ostrich farm.
