This family owned lodge accommodates a maximum of 24 guests, which ensures personal service and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The lodge is situated on the dry Manyeleti riverbed and overlooks a permanent waterhole. The pool deck guarantees an excellent view of a variety of animals, coming from the plains to drink.

Luxury Rooms: The natural design and architecture of these six glass-fronted suites fall softly on the eye. Decorated in warm, earthy tones, they blend in superbly with their natural surroundings.

These exclusive open-plan suites each have a lounge, double bedroom, en suite bathroom (inside/outside shower) and a private viewing deck that offers spectacular views over the riverbed.

All luxury chalets feature air-conditioning, overhead fans, fireplaces, mini bars, tea/coffee facilities, mosquito nets and electronic safes.

The Manyeleti Honeymoon Suite provides for romantic elegance and the setting ensures privacy with a stunning view. This glass fronted suite has all the regular luxuries and also boasts a private splash pool and sala, ideal for a mid-morning nap.

The five Rondavels have been renovated and redecorated to pay tribute to oupa Dries and ouma Anna Steyn, without whom Elephant Plains would not have existed.

The five rondavels are set in the beautifully landscaped garden of the original family holiday camp and one can still feel the old bushveld charm upon entering.

The rondavels have sundecks, en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, overhead fans, mini bars, tea/coffee facilities, mosquito nets and electronic safes.

The main lodge houses the reception, dining room, bar/lounge, wine cellar, library and curio shop.

Mealtimes are sumptuous affairs at Elephant Plains Game Lodge, with tasty international cuisine and South African specialties.

Breakfast and lunch are enjoyed in the dining room or on the deck. Dinner is served around a log fire in the boma, while enjoying the mystical nocturnal sounds under the African sky.

Elephant Plains Game Lodge is situated in the 65, 000 hectare Sabi Sand Wildtuin, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park.

The Sabi Sand Wildtuin was set up in the 1950's by a group of private landowners who dropped the fences between their properties in order to create a larger area for the animals to roam freely. The reserve is named after its two main rivers, the Sabi and Sand Rivers, which both flow to the south of Elephant Plains.

The lodge is situated on the banks of the dry Manyeleti riverbed. We traverse an area of over 4500 ha. This encompasses clay-based plains, broad-leafed, hilly woodland, interspersed with dolerite ridges and mature riverine habitats, creating a fantastic biodiversity of flora and fauna. Here you can see Africa's Big Five and you might even come across rarer predators, such as the cheetah and wild dog.

Morning and Afternoon/Evening Game Drives that will live up to the Africa of your imagination, creating a lifetime of memories! Your experienced game ranger and local Shangaan tracker are keen to share their extensive knowledge and love of the African bush with you. There are two game drives per day in open top Landrovers. Each drive lasts about three hours with an intermediate break for drinks and snacks.

Daily Guided Bush Walks which give you the opportunity to take a closer look at animal tracks, birds, different types of grasses and trees, as well as any smaller details of the bush that might fascinate you.

The African Health Spa is just the place to go if you have the need to relax and unwind, or just feel like spoiling yourself. A wide variety of treatments are available to rejuvenate mind, body and soul while enjoying an awe inspiring view of the plain in front of the lodge.

The Elephant Plains Gym is equipped with a treadmill, stationary bike, rowing machine, multi gym as well as free weights.

Star Gazing under African Skies. What better place to gaze at the stars than in the middle of the bush, far away from the big city lights! Our rangers completed a star gazing course through Cosmic Safari. We use an 8 Inch Orion Intelli Teloscope. View constellations such as The Southern Cross and The Scorpion and find out interesting facts about nebulas and clusters.

Please note that we require the whole camp to be booked out for a conference, up to a maximum of 24 guests.

Rates include 14% VAT, accommodation, all meals, morning and evening game drives, bush walks, tea and coffee.

Your bar, mini bar and game drive drinks, curio shop purchases, Spa treatments, telephone calls, laundry services and child minding services are extras for your own account.

Guides and pilots will be allowed to go on the game drives, if space on the vehicle allows it. Drinks are for the guide's own account.
