The 3-star Manyane Resort is nestled at the gateway to the Pilanesberg National Park, in the North West Province of South Africa, set in unspoilt natural surroundings. The thatched African styled chalets are luxurious, with one or two bedrooms including a lounge, and in certain Chalets an upstairs loft bedroom.

Two hours drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, Pilanesberg was proclaimed as a National Park in 1979, covering an area of 55 000ha. It has been restocked with most of the species that inhabited the area in the late eighteenth century including the majestic "Big Five". One of the most advantageous aspects of Pilanesberg is that it is situated within a malaria- free belt.

Manyane Resort offers 5 different types of accommodation:

Studio Rooms: Studio rooms consist of 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, bar fridge and shower. Rates quoted are per person per night on B&B or D/B&B basis inclusive of VAT and tourism levies. No self-catering available .

Chalets: Chalets have a bathroom, air-conditioning and a private patio and braai area. Centrally situated pool and playground. Rates quoted are per person per night on a B&B or D/B&B basis inclusive of VAT and Tourism Levies.

4 Bed chalets - 1 Bedroom with a double bed and two single beds in the loft, kitchen, and bathroom with shower cubicle. Open plan kitchen.

Caravan Park: All sites are grassed and electrified (utility outlets 15amp) and can accommodate a maximum of 6 people and 2 motor vehicles per site. Sites have centrally situated ablution facilities. Access to the restaurant, pool, playgrounds and on-site superette. Rates quoted are per site, inclusive of VAT.

Camping: Requests for electrified sites are essential. Maximum of 6 people and 2 motor vehicles per site. Self-catering.

Safari tents: Tent accommodates 2 pax only. Consists of 2 single beds, bedding is supplied, use central ablution facilities. Booking on Self-catering , BB or DBB. All the tents are electrified, with fridge and tea/coffee facility. No cutlery or cooking equipment supplied.

Pilanesberg National Park is situated on the eroded remains of an extinct alkaline volcanic crater - one of only three in the world. The Park consists of numerous hills, wooded ravines and grassed open plains, making the area very picturesque. A wide diversity of eco-types makes a beautiful home for more than 35 species of large mammals, the sought-after "Big Five" and more than 300 bird species.

Manyane offers tranquility and relaxation. Activities include mini golf, Children's playground, walk-in Aviary, self-guided or conducted game drives and a self-guided walking trails area.

Day and Night Drives: Scheduled daily drives are available into the Pilanesberg National Park, which depart in the early mornings, afternoons and evenings. The objective of a night drive is to view the park's nocturnal wildlife.

Hiking Trails: A general hiking trail where guests are exposed close-up, to the fauna and flora of the National Park by an experienced and accomplished guide.

Game Drives & Bush Braai or Breakfast: Join us for a sunrise or sunset adventure for a bush braai or breakfast at a choice venue inside the park.

Balloon Safaris : Offered daily in the morning, depending on the weather and number of passengers. Guests are collected by their guide and taken through the park to rendezvous with the balloon crew. Flights are approximatly an hour's duration and on landing sparkling wine is provided. A leisurely game drive is then taken through the park to a game lodge where breakfast is served, after which guests are returned.

Quad Biking : Join us for a quadbiking adventure trail through the Letsatsing Game Park accompanied by experienced guides, with the possibility of seeing Rhino, Giraffe and other animal species en route.

Clay Pigeon Shooting : Try your hand at clay pigeon shooting, no experience necessary as our instructors will help you become acquainted with the 12 gauge shotguns used in this activity.

Archery : Experience the ancient art of archery with the help of modern day equipment. Competent instructors will help you master the technique of shooting a recurve bow, a powerful crossbow and if you are up to the challenge, the modern compound bow.

Combination : Experience the ultimate exitement of a combination of all three activities, Quad Biking, Archery and Clay Pigeon Shooting.

Drumming: Join in on one of the oldest forms of communication known to man, enjoy the interactive rhythms of Africa, by taking part in a drum circle and learn to play the Djembe Drum.

Elephant Back Safari: Pick up from the Gametrackers Outdoor Adventures desk located at the resort. Transfer to " The Elephant Wallow " will be approximately 40 minutes through the Letsatsing Game Reserve giving guests an opportunity to view game along the way.

Daily Elephant Interaction Safari: Join Chikwenya, Sharu, Manu, Sapi and Michael at their home in the Letsatsing Game Reserve, only 20 minutes from Sun City. Join these five for an interactive - filled Elephant Experience. Guests will be collected from the resort at 12:30 and transferred to "The Elephant Wallow" where they are met by thier hosts and offered a welcome drink. Take time to touch, feed and photograph these truly amazing animals. Marvel at thier intelligence, diversity and majesty, or simply sit back and reflect on this unusually harmonious relationship in a beautiful, secure and pristine environment.

Manyane Resort offers 3 fully equipped conference rooms, which can accommodate groups as small as 10, up to 80 delegates, depending on room set-up.
