Summary

Bordering Zimbabwe on the banks of the Limpopo River in northern South Africa, 60km from the Kruger National Park's Pafuri gate lies 10,000 ha (22,000 acres) of unspoilt bushveld. Here, some of the world's most sought after animal species wander. At Popallin Ranch they live side by side, allowing visitors to enjoy a thrilling close-up look at a proliferation of game in their natural habitat.

Self-catering and fully catered accommodation is available in 3 different, intimate camps.

Popallin Ranch is 5 hours' drive from Johannesburg.

Accommodation

De Wet's Camp: De Wet's Camp is fully catered and has 14 beautifully equipped en-suite chalets, that will take you back to a bygone era of colonial elegance and hospitality.

An open-air lapa dining area, bar facilities and a comfortable lounge area is available, while a sparkling plunge pool invites you to cool down after a hard day's sight-seeing. The camp also has a well-equipped gym.

For those who need to stay in touch, cable television, satellite-phone, cellphone, fax and e-mail facilities are at your disposal.

Zebra Camp: This is a self-catering and secluded camp with a cluster of only three chalets accommodating up to eight guests. Decor and design is traditional and emits the aura and mystique of Southern Africa. All chalets, as with all accommodation at Popallin, have clean running water and electricity.

SiGonde Camp: On the banks of the idyllic Nwandzi River, guests can choose to become truly self-sufficient at SiGonde Camp. To enjoy the tranquility and simplicity of being one with nature in absolute safety. Realising that there are a few home comforts that visitors enjoy, even in the bush, SiGonde has fresh running water and indoor ablution facilities. Favoured by the self-drive 4x4 enthusiasts.

Food
