Food

Meals at Zululand Tree Lodge are served in the Boma, an outdoor, covered dining area that overlooks the fever tree forest and water hole. At night, log fires are lit creating a romantic, bush atmosphere. The pan-African cuisine offers a variety of dishes in buffet style and usually includes a venison dish amongst the choices of meat dishes.

The breakfast buffet includes traditional fare as well as an array of locally grown fresh fruits, yoghurts and health cereals. Lunch is an informal meal as most guests are out exploring the wonders of the area.

For those who prefer to spend the day relaxing beside the swimming pool or with a book in our spacious lounge, a light lunch is available off the room service menu.

Environment Info

Ubizane Wildlife Reserve boasts a variety of game, including white rhino, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, most species of antelope, and over 350 species of birdlife. You can view the game from the comfort of equipped game viewing land rovers, on foot for a more thrilling encounter or on horseback for a wonderfully unique experience.

Adjacent to Ubizane Wildlife Reserve is the renowned Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Reserve, the oldest in Africa, where the Big 5 (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard) roam the bush.

Activities

GAME DRIVES: Game viewing in open game viewing vehicles is usually reserved for the early mornings and late afternoons when the animals become more active after sheltering in the shade of the bush during the heat of the day.

HORSE RIDES: Experience the freedom and beauty of the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve on horseback. Saddle up and take an early morning romantic ride or go for an evening relaxing ride through the Ubizane valley. Horse ride through unspoilt lush forests, game and open grasslands.

Conference Facilities

Full conference facilities are available for groups of up to 60 (cinema style), and standard equipment includes an overhead projector and screen, a whiteboard, and a flipchart with pens.
