Magaliesberg Canopy Tour

Situated at the Sparkling Waters Hotel and Spa (which is a mere 1,5 hours drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria) is the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour. The Magaliesberg Canopy Tour was the third canopy tour to be constructed under the Canopy Tours SA banner.

The Magaliesberg Canopy Tour is a unique eco-adventure that takes clients on a tour down the spectacular Ysterhout Kloof, set in South Africa's ancient Magaliesberg Mountains. Eleven platforms have been built against the cliffs and rock faces of the kloof and are joined by long steel cables that clients slide along to reach the next platform.

The Magaliesberg Canopy Tour is ideal for the individual thrill seeker, family getaways, group or student excursions and Corporate Team Builds.

Much like a "foefie" slide, the canopy tour essentially involves zigzagging down the kloof while stopping at each platform to admire the expansive views and surrounding ecology. Two trained canopy guides assure the safety of each participant while describing interesting facts about the indigenous plants, bird life, ecology and geology of the area. Including the briefing session tours last approximately 2,5 hours.

The experience begins with a briefing session at the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour offices where you will be tutored on the do's and don'ts during the tour. You will also be kitted out with your harness, safety helmet and sliding glove and will be given an opportunity to ask questions to your guide. Tour parties are restricted to a maximum of eight persons in order to ensure maximum enjoyment by all participants.

After the briefing session you will be transported up the mountain over a distance of two kilometres to the first platform. This is where your unforgettable, unmatchable adventure begins - enjoy the ride!

Exception: For their own safety, pregnant women may not participate in the Canopy Tour.
