Bluwater Fishing Charters

Spend a day on the big blue ocean with BluWater charters' experienced skippers (excess of 1000 hours and SAMSA licensed) catching reef fish, Cape salmon and cob in the bay, or take up a bit bigger challenge by trying to hook one of the plentiful game species, such as dorado (dolphin fish), bonito and tuna.

A day in the deep exposes you not only to great fishing, but also the diverse eco-system that hosts dolphins, sharks, whales and marlin and a vast array of bird life.

BluWater operates in the Western and Eastern Cape, South Africa.

BluWater offers 3 different fishing packages:

Bottom fishing package : Up to seven people. Outing is +/- five hours long.

Sunset cruise package : Outing is +/- one hour long.

Game fishing package: Up to five people. Outing is +/- 10 hours long.

The Fleet

BluWater: Bluwater, a 28ft Butt Cat walkaround with 2 x 175 hp Suzuki fourstroke motors, the pride of our fleet. She is well equipped and offers all the comforts necessary for a great outing on the big blue. Bluwater is launched from Port St Francis.

BluWater: 32ft Two Oceans Magnum Walkaround. 2 x 250 hp Yamaha Four Stroke outboard motors. Purposely built for catching big Yellowfin Tuna South of Cape Point. BluWater is launched from Gordons Bay.

The Tackle

Bluwater is stacked with top-of-the-range Shimano reels. Line class ratings range from 10kg (20lbs), 15kg (30lbs) and 24kg (50lbs), up to 36kg for tuna and game fishing. Wind-on leaders are used on all game fishing gear. A variety of lures from Halco, Rapala and Williamson are used. For reef fishing, KP centerpin reels are used, fitted with either monofilament or Berkley Fireline fishing line.

Our 2 boats launch from Port St. Francis in the Eastern Cape, and Gordons Bay in the Western Cape, respectively.

All tackle and bait needed for each outing will be supplied. Bring only yourself for a good day's fishing!

Please note that a valid fishing licence is needed for fishing in South African waters. These can be purchased at any post office.

Also, don't forget sun protection, a warm jacket and sea sickness tablets if you're prone to motion sickness.

Any fishing experience level. We also cater for beginners wanting to learn the finer points of fishing in a relaxed and patient atmosphere.
