Established in 1892, the historic town of Dullstroom is renowned for the superb fly-fishing it has to offer. The diversity of fishing conditions is probably what sets Dullstroom apart from other small towns. Trout waters range from large 16ha dams where float tubes and fast sinking lines are advised, to narrow streams where only the most delicate of presentation will entice the trout to your dry. Accommodation is as varied as the fishing waters and you will be well advised to book in advance.

Situated in Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, South Africa, The Village Angler is ideally located to outfit you in your search for that elusive trout. We carry a full range of rods, reels, accessories and flies, and we offer guided day trips, private instruction as well as corporate fly fishing events. Outstanding for teambuilding!

Along with fly fishing equipment hire and sales, The Village Angler offers:

Tuition: (1-2 People), Max 2 hours.

Tuition: (Group - 5 People Max), Max 3 hours.

Corporate Fly-Fishing Events: (10 - 35 People). 7am-12pm.

Half to full day Guiding: (Private - 5 People Max). Done at Jurassic Pond.

Guided Day Trips: (Max 5 people). Tuesdays. Yellow fish trips to the Komati River at Komati Gorge fish and Wildlife Reserve, or Wild River Trout at Rivendell farm on the Spekboom River.

Please bring your own rods and fishing gear. Alternatively, rods can be hired and flies specific to the region bought from The Village Angler - which also offers a variety of other fishing gear, including clothing for sale.

Don't forget sun protection and refreshments for your day of fun under the African sun!

No prior fly fishing experience is required.
