Summary

Stormsriver Adventures is a professional adventure and activity company based in the heart of the Tsitsikamma Forest in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Adventure activities take place from the adventure centre on the scenic little village of Stormsriver.

Our adventures cater for all tastes - mild or wild - and experiences include the Woodcutters Journey Tsitsikamma Forest tour and several guided forest hikes and walks which vary from 1 - 5 hours in duration. Enjoy a hike through the magical and diverse Tsitsikamma indigenous rain forest - an excellent teambuilding activity!

General

Woodcutter's Journey on foot: duration 3 hours. A 11km guided hike in the spectacular indigenous Plaatbos Nature Reserve. Birdlife is abundant (including Knysna Loeries and elusive Narina Trojan), and your guide will explain the ecology of the lush primeval forest. Includes hiking snack pack.

Big Tree hike: duration 1 to 1 and half hours. Optional activity for own account and transport. A 2km boardwalk hike surrounded by indigenous plants and trees on route to a spectacular 800 year old Quteniqwa Yellowwood tree.

The Waterfall Hike: Located in the Tsitsikamma National Park this "Marine" Trail presents the first sector of the famous "Otter Trail". The route meanders along the coastline for 3 km to a spectacular waterfall. Guides provide interesting insights into the marine ecology.

The Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail: The Majestic Tsitsikamma Mountains provide for an extensive five day guided hike.One, two and three night options are also available. FGASA accredited guides are provided. Only a light day pack is required as all equipment and food is transported to the huts.

What Is Included

Informative guide, hiking snack pack on shorter trips. Longer overnight excursions include accommodation and all catering.

What Is Excluded

Don't forget to bring comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, a hat and a small backpack in which to carry a jacket and plenty of water.

Level Of Ability

Anyone who enjoys hiking can do this activity. The hiking and walking trails are not physically demanding.
