Evergreen Stables

Evergreen Stables, situated in Paarl in the heart of South Africa's Western Cape Winelands, offers you Tuition, Trails, Camps and much more! We specialise in horse and pony lessons for children and adults as well as holiday camps. We also offer outrides through the picturesque Winelands, olive orchards and pine forests of the region.

Our facilities include a sand 20 x 60 dressage arena, 15 x 30m indoor riding arena, 20 x 40 enclosed dressage arena, double & single lungeing ring, jumping arena, dam, bungalows & a dormitory for holiday camps and swimming pool.

We have the most wonderful team of little ponies for our tiny tots. They have been specially trained and selected over the years and give the children instant confidence in being around horses.

Our other horses range from the most steady riding school workhorse teaching basic riding, up to our group of competitive horses and ponies that go out and introduce our up-and-coming riders to the competitive disciplines.

Evergreen Stables specifically offers:

Outrides: Enjoy a ride through vineyards, olive groves & pine forests. We are situated at the foot of the Du Toitskloof mountains. Our horses are reliable and well-schooled and range from the safe & bomb-proof for beginners to horses that will give experienced riders a good and enjoyable ride. We cater for groups, families or individuals. Wine tastings, breakfast/lunches etc. can be arranged.

Lessons: We teach basic riding to all ages and abilities. Group as well as private lessons. We have a special team of ponies for riders from 2 years & older on the lead rein. Our ladies' lessons, "housewives league" are weekday mornings. Weekends and public holidays by arrangement. Term lessons are Mondays to Fridays where we offer a special discounted rate to all riders of school-going age.

Competitive Riding: We cater for competitive riders in dressage, equitation, show-jumping & eventing. Private and group lessons are available in all these disciplines. We have a variety of good competitive horses & ponies.

Leasing: We offer a leasing facility for riders who would like to ride more often than once a week or who would like to progress to becoming horse owners. We have a selection of horses and ponies that are available on a half or full lease. A half lease entitles you to ride 3 times a week and on the full lease you may ride as often as you wish.

Holiday Camps: We hold sleep over as well as day camps during most school holidays. Children sleep in 4 x 4-bed bungalows as well as in a dormitory. They are under capable & qualified adult supervision. They ride twice a day and the programme includes lessons as well as outrides, horse & pony care, games and other healthy outdoor fun activities.

Weekend Getaway for you & your horse: Bored with your outrides? Need to take your young horse out for some experience? Love to spend a weekend with your friends? We have 4 x 4-bed bungalows & can accommodate your equine friend in a stable or paddock. You can make use of all our facilities and enjoy our beautiful outrides. Relax in front of the pool and enjoy an evening braai.

Training Shows: We hold regular training shows. This is an ideal opportunity to introduce novice riders & horses to competition in a relaxed and friendly environment. Keep checking our website for coming events.

Livery: We 55 stables and have a limited amount of space available for livery clients.
