Saddle up and enjoy the freedom of horse-riding in nature with Horseback Africa. In a vehicle you're restricted to roads and pathways but on horseback you're free to follow the wildlife wherever they go.

We have a number of well schooled horses that are suitable for all levels of riding ability, including first time riders. All our horses are trained in the classical English style to give a responsive ride. Guests may ride in comfortable trail rider saddles or English General purpose saddles.

Horseback Africa is off the beaten track and therefore a more personal and exclusive experience.

We specialize in teaching. Many people are enchanted by horses but have never had to chance to get formal lessons. With an experienced teacher and a well trained horse you'll be surprised at what you can do!

Horseback Africa is located 1 hour's drive from Johannesburg International Airport and 30 minutes from Pretoria. Comfortable country accommodation is also available at Horseback Africa.

Every rider gets personally introduced to their horse. This is specially beneficial for beginners. We specialize in teaching people how to ride as this adds so much to the whole experience!

Horseback Africa is situated on a private Game Park. On safari you will see vast open spaces and pure unspoiled nature, not other tourists and buses! We only take small groups on Safari, this ensures that all our guests get an exclusive experience, and can get right up close to wild animals.

We provide many opportunities for good riders to have some fun. Our horses are exceptionally well trained. We do a lot of teaching on the safaris and also have many guides on one safari, so the good riders can have fun while the beginners take it easy and feel safe.

Along with expert guidance we provide comfortable lightweight helmets and half-leg chaps. Comfortable, well fitting safety equipment is a must for an enjoyable ride!
