Cloudbase Paragliding Tours

Cloudbase Paragliding offers paragliding tuition, tandem introductory flights, license courses, powered paragliding tuition, accommodation, tours, and equipment sales and rental. We are based in the Garden Route town of Wilderness on the East Coast of South Africa. Our nearest large town with an airport is George, 20 km to the Northwest.

There are 24 flying sites within an hour's drive. These range from easy coastal soaring to cross country thermals.

Jan Minnaar and Khobi Bowden apply their extensive local and international knowledge to enable you to fulfill your dreams in this on-going skill development sport. Cloudbase Paraglidin is one of the longest established schools in South Africa (1994) and has one of the most experienced instructors in South Africa.

On any good weather day, enjoy the thrill of paragliding flight as a passenger. Soar along the magnificent Wilderness coastline with the seagulls. One of the exciting options is to take off at the Map of Africa view site. Fly over Dolphin Point and in season, do some aerial Whale Spotting.

Depending on wind conditions, flights from 3 - 15 minutes and longer are possible. Cloudbase Paragliding policy is only to fly when it is safe and possible to fly for a minimum of 15 minutes. All you need is some warm clothing and a camera!

The best time to TANDEM is normally after 11.00 am when the wind is more favourable. It is advisable to book early (09:00) in order to plan the day and get a weather report.
