Adventure Karting

Adventure Karting is held at Oribi Gorge Hotel on the south coast of KZN, South Africa, with a great Go-Karting track. This event guarantees to be a truly inspiring experience with fantastic team building opportunities.

How Adventure Karting Works:

The event is run in the form of a team relay. The group is randomly divided into teams by the head marshall, and then allocated an off road kart. Each team must have a team name, color and respective pit lane.

The objective is for the teams to work together and finish the race. Although individual lap times are important, if the teams do not work as a unit and help each other with things like swapping of helmets, counting of laps etc. their time will be slower than another team who works together, no matter how fast each individual may be. In this sense it is an ultimate team building experience as it incorporates every member with equal importance and responsibility.

The winning team is the team in which each rider completes their allocated laps with the least number of penalties. Penalties are given for things such as: bumping into the track or another kart, reckless driving, safety breaches such as not tying a helmet correctly, dangerous pit entries, incorrect number of laps or any other mistakes. Once again the team as a whole is responsible for ensuring that each member performs at his best.

War cries, words of encouragement and general boisterousness are greatly encouraged and may even entice the head marshall to overlook certain minor infringements.

South Coast of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. The event typically takes place at Oribi Gorge Hotel, an easy, safe 11km drive from the N2 highway near Port Shepstone and 22 kms from the beach.
