Skydive Durban

Situated on the sub tropic North Coast of Kwazulu Natal, South Africa, Skydive Durban offers a sea level drop zone for all year round excitement. Tandem skydiving, static line jumps and accelerated freefall courses are all on offer.

Tandem Jump

The exhilaration of freefall can be experienced by receiving a short briefing and training session. Thereafter you will be taken up to 9500 ft above the airfield in an aircraft and strapped to the front of a Tandem Master skydiving instructor.

You will exit the aircraft and fall towards the planet earth for 30 to 35 seconds. During this time you will see the cameraman flying in front of you and feel the air rushing past you at almost 200 KPH.

The Tandem Master will then have you deploy the parachute at 5000ft after which you will float slowly down to earth while you will be allowed to take control and steer the canopy for a while. The canopy ride lasts about 6 minutes, during which time you can enjoy the amazing views of the KZN North Coast. Your instructor will perform the soft and safe landing and you will walk away with a smile that will remain with you for some time.

The whole experience takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.

For the tandem jump on arrival at the Drop Zone you will receive a 15 minute briefing during which the equipment, aircraft and freefall drills as well as the landing procedure will be explained to you.

All equipment, experienced instructor, flight to 9 500 feet above ground level for the jump, and the jump itself!

A DVD of your jump experience is available at an additional cost.

Bring an adventurous spirit, warm clothing (jeans and sweater) and closed in shoes or takkies (no hook type laces).

No Special Skills required. Maximum weight 110 kg. If under the age of 18 years parental consent is required. Tandem jumps are not recommended for children under 12.
