Afriski Snow Skiing

Learn to ski in Africa with a brilliant team of Austrian experts at Afriski Ski Mountain Resort in Lesotho! An international team of ski and snowboard instructors offer the best teaching techniques available right here in the heart of Africa.

Located 4 hours drive from Johannesburg and Bloemfontein, and 6 hours from Durban, Afriski is the closest ski resort to Gauteng, the Free State, KwaZulu Natal, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West and Northern Cape. The road is tarred all the way to the resort and in a great condition, except for the last 7km with some potholes and the last 500m to the resort which is gravel. There is no need for a 4X4 vehicle.

Afriski is ideal for corporate getaways and conferences with a difference.

Afriski Ski & Snowboard School will teach you the basics of skiing/snowboarding and show you all the different techniques needed to enjoy the sport to the fullest of your capability.

The ski school caters for both beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders, and both private and group lessons are available. Please note that we only take children from 5 years and up.

The ski season starts from the beginning of June and will end August / September - the dates are weather depending.

Lesotho. Afriski Ski Mountain Resort is situated at 3222m above sea level in the Maluti Mountains. Enter Lesotho from South Africa through the Caledonspoort Border Post at Fouriesburg in the Eastern Free State.
