Stanley And Livingstone Challenge Team Building

The Stanley and Livingstone Challenge Teambuild is a Corporate Team building safari brought to you by Beach and Bush Adventures, one of South Africa's top corporate teambuilding and event organising operators.

Follow in the footsteps of great African Explorers Henry Morton Stanley and David Livingstone in this unique full day team building safari for corporates based in and around a Big Five game reserve.

Stanley and Livingstone were 2 of Africa's great explorers. Their leadership styles differed remarkably and yet each succeeded in his own way. In the spirit of African Exploration each team must follow its own path in pursuit of the secret of the lost Zikalala tribe.

To find the tribe, teams must first prove their ability to take on the African bush. Groups must satisfy a series of criteria while navigating around the Big 5 game reserve in 4x4 vehicles, collecting clues and identifying spoor and important flora and fauna. After this teams must take on a series of safari-inspired activities in order to be the first team to collect the tributes to be paid to the tribe. The winning team has the honour of meeting the tribe and presenting the tribute.

A Beach and Bush Facilitator on site evaluates the performance of the team and their ability to respond to challenges. Comprehensive evaluation and report-back ensure that groups attain maximum benefit.

Included Activities

GPS Navigation: Group must use the GPS points and Map provided to successfully navigate around the reserve during this corporate team building safari challenge.

Spoor, Flora and Fauna Identification: Use the books provided to identify a number of trees, dung types and spoor in real time. Ranger provided.

Spear Throwing: The intricate art of traditional Zulu spear throwing must be mastered.

Mini Art Challenge: Teams must reproduce a uniquely African piece of art using canvas, brush, beads and any materials collected on the game drive. The snag: only 1 member of the team gets to see the original.

Bridge Building: Span the raging torrent of the Zambesi River (not quite). Build a bridge across a small body of water using bamboo and inflatable pontoons.

Giant Puzzles: Complete the giant puzzle.

Bush Tucker: Sample a selection of Safari delicacies!

Blindfold Bush Croquet: Hilarious but also a brilliant way to foster communication and coordination. Traditional colonial croquet done cross-country style.
