Summary

Wild water rafting on the Umzimkulu River provides a fun filled adventurous day outing. It comprises of two routes, one, a relaxed paddle with three memorable rapids and a second more exciting route which lasts a full day. The full day trip will comprise of rapids from grades 2 to 4, depending on the river conditions. Both trips include refreshments on the river and lunch back at the Hotel afterwards. There is also a two day trip on offer that includes camping overnight on the river banks.

Wild water rafting is just one of many activities offered by adventure company Wild 5, which operates from the beautiful unspoiled environment of the Oribi Gorge on the south coast of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Activities available cater for both young and old, for those seeking the thrill of adventure, or for others quite happy to relax and be drawn into the peace and tranquility of their surrounds.

General

Rafting trips allows one to enjoy the scenery and bird life of the Oribi valley as well as a little excitement of the rapids. Qualified guides (SARA) are on hand through the spills and thrills to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Rafting operates all year round and booking is essential. A minimum of four people is required per trip. During the low level months, tubes are also used to traverse the river.

Day trips:
Summer: min 8 people, max 27 people.
Winter: min 4 people, max 12 people.

Two day trip:
Summer: min 4 people, max 12 people.
Winter: min 4 people, max 10 people.

KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Oribi Wild Rafting takes place an easy, safe 11km drive from the N2 highway near Port Shepstone and 22 kms from the beach.

What Is Included

Guides, equipment, refreshments. Two day trips include meals in the price.

What Is Excluded

Day trips: Lunch is excluded. Bring change of clothes and towel. Wear old shoes with grip. Be prepared to get wet and make sure to have sun block.

Level Of Ability

A basic level of fitness is required, but routes will be chosen according to your paddling experience.
